On behalf of Lionsgate, we are pleased to announce a new release date for THE SPIRIT - now opening on CHRISTMAS DAY! Frank Miller’s upcoming film adaptation of Will Eisner’s legendary comic strip will now be hitting theaters nearly a month earlier than originally planned. According to VARIETY, “Lionsgate prexy of theatrical films Tom Ortenberg said the decision to shift the film to Christmas Day came after the project was presented to fans at New York Comic-Con.”

Finally got the new layout coded and online. I hope you like it. I think Rod did a great job creating the header/footer for us, as always! There have been a few changes... The 'community' page is no longer as I decided to merge it with the 'network' page. Also there is a new area to the site: 'The Spirit Pages'. We will post all the news, updates and promotional feed that is provided to us by Liongate there, and also any good finds like reliable blog news, merchandise offers, etc. So visit there often to keep informed about what's coming next for the movie.

I have added a cbox since I took off the comments. Please, please do not abuse it. Do not spam us, and please, please do not flame anyone. I would hate to take it down. I encourage everyone to join the message boards to get to know other fans. Btw.. I will be working on the message boards soon. If anyone would like to volunteer to help out as a board mod, please let me or Pam know...

I am still working on things... I probably have about 3-4 hours worth of work to do still. I will probably continue working tonight, sorry it won't be this afternoon. Please continue to check in, hopefully soon everything will be ready to change over.

Okay, finally I am going to get the layout changed and pages updated!! Yeah, I know finally... Since we are helping to promote The Spirit, I'll hold off on putting up the BISS layout I talked about earlier. Rod is working on a new layout for us as I type this. Please excuse the mess while I am getting the changes and updates made. I hope to be done by tomorrow afternoon!

NY Comic Con Begins And MTV News Is There, Debut Of ‘Spirit’ Trailer Nears

Do you know what today is? If you said the beginning of NY Comic Con, then give yourself a big pat on the back. That’s right, the largest pop culture show on the East Coast is here and MTV News is covering it in style. A host of big celebrities will be here — from Stan Lee and Neil Gaiman to Guillermo del Toro and the cast of “Hellboy II” — and we’ll be bringing them all through our fancy skybox studio.

Be sure to check here throughout the weekend as we post video interviews, breaking news and awesome pictures from the Con. And be sure to check MTV.com at 4pm EST tomorrow when we unveil the never-before-seen first trailer for Frank Miller’s heavily-anticipated flick, “The Spirit.”
